The tower's ancient stones shriek in protest as arcane energies long-suppressed come violently awake. The ground beneath your feet bucks like a startled horse, and a deep rumble echoes through the walls—not settling stone, but something massive stirring below. Dust pours from every seam and crack, mixing with the swirling blue lightning that now crackles across every surface. Seraphine staggers backward, her eyes wide with terror as she realizes the full implications of what she's unleashed.

"By the goddess!" Halie gasps, her hands raised in a desperate barrier spell as chunks of masonry begin to rain down around you. "This whole place is about to come down! Merrin—get back here NOW!" Her voice echoes through the darkness of the side corridor, but there's no response from the rogue. The air grows thick with the stench of decay and something else—something old and hungry.

Jeane clenches her fists, her wings half-spreading for balance as she fights against the arcane backlash. "Fuck—this isn't natural decay. The magic holding this place together is... consuming itself from within." She turns to Seraphine, her crimson eyes blazing with urgency. "Whatever sleeps below us... it just invited us further inside. That passage—it wasn't sealed by age or decay." The wizard points to the newly-revealed opening in the wall, her expression grim. "This is a trap. A fresh one. Whatever entity resides here... it's not dead. It's waiting."

The unholy chorus outside intensifies, a thousand bone-dry voices raised in a sound that scrapes against your very soul. The skeletons at the entrance hesitate for a moment, then begin to advance with renewed purpose. They're no longer mindless guardians—they move now as if guided by some external will, their movements coordinated and deliberate. A cold wind howls through the newly-opened passage, carrying with it the distinct sound of... laughter.
