Narrator · Narrator

The flickering candles cast eerie shadows on the cracked stone walls as the party huddles around the heavy table. The air is thick with the scent of damp timber and old earth, a morbid reminder of the ruin that lies beyond the chapel. Distant thunder rumbles outside, a menacing accompaniment to the anxious murmur of conversation.

"Friends," the Narrator says, their voice low and measured, "we gather here tonight in this sanctuary of stone, for one reason: the whispering woods have grown treacherous, and the Time-Splitting Sword beckons. We've come to retrieve it, but we know the tower's dark history, its guardians, and the risks that await."

The party exchanges uneasy glances, their faces illuminated only by the candlelight. The cold draft seeps through the cracks in the window, carrying with it whispers of a forgotten past.

"The tower's secrets are not for the faint of heart," the Narrator continues. "We've been warned of undead skeletons, dark magic, and shadow demons – creatures born from the very darkness within those walls. If we fail, our journey will be for naught."

The party's eyes lock onto the Map of the Tower's Ground Floor, its partial rendering a reminder of the unknown dangers that lie within.

"Our quest is to reach the heart of the tower, claim the Time-Splitting Sword, and escape with our lives. But we must be clear: success will depend on our cooperation, our wits, and our courage. Failure means no return to the world we left behind."

The Narrator pauses, their gaze sweeping across the assembled party.

"Seraphine, as the Wizard, you've been studying the tower's ancient lore. What can you tell us about this place? What dangers should we expect to face?"

The room falls silent, awaiting Seraphine's insight into the unknown dangers that lie ahead.

Jeane · Sorcerer

I lean back in my chair with a smug smile, fingers interlocked on the table as I address the group. "Ladies and gentlemen—" a deliberate pause for dramatic effect "—let me be clear: this is no suicide mission. We have skills, we have resources." My gaze sweeps around the room, making eye contact with each member. "If anyone thinks otherwise, they are free to leave now. But know this—the Time-Splitting Sword isn't just some trinket; it's power. And I intend to claim it."

I stand up from the table, pacing nervously as I consider the risks we're about to face. "Listen, I'm not afraid of a little danger," I say, trying to sound braver than I feel. "But these shadow demons sound like a whole different level of trouble. If they can turn our own minds against us..." I trail off, shaking my head. "I don't know about you lot, but I value my sanity."
