Narrator · Narrator

The flickering candles cast eerie shadows on the cracked stone walls as the party huddles around the heavy table. The air is thick with the scent of damp timber and old earth, a morbid reminder of the ruin that lies beyond the chapel. Distant thunder rumbles outside, a menacing accompaniment to the anxious murmur of conversation.

"Friends," the Narrator says, their voice low and measured, "we gather here tonight in this sanctuary of stone, for one reason: the whispering woods have grown treacherous, and the Time-Splitting Sword beckons. We've come to retrieve it, but we know the tower's dark history, its guardians, and the risks that await."

The party exchanges uneasy glances, their faces illuminated only by the candlelight. The cold draft seeps through the cracks in the window, carrying with it whispers of a forgotten past.

"The tower's secrets are not for the faint of heart," the Narrator continues. "We've been warned of undead skeletons, dark magic, and shadow demons – creatures born from the very darkness within those walls. If we fail, our journey will be for naught."

The party's eyes lock onto the Map of the Tower's Ground Floor, its partial rendering a reminder of the unknown dangers that lie within.

"Our quest is to reach the heart of the tower, claim the Time-Splitting Sword, and escape with our lives. But we must be clear: success will depend on our cooperation, our wits, and our courage. Failure means no return to the world we left behind."

The Narrator pauses, their gaze sweeping across the assembled party.

"Seraphine, as the Wizard, you've been studying the tower's ancient lore. What can you tell us about this place? What dangers should we expect to face?"

The room falls silent, awaiting Seraphine's insight into the unknown dangers that lie ahead.

J

Jeane · Sorcerer

I lean forward, resting my elbows on the table with an air of casual authority. "The tower is a nexus of arcane power, and those who dwell within it are not to be trifled with." I pause for effect, letting the gravity sink in.

H

Halie · Cleric

I look around the room, my expression grave. "We know the risks, but we also know our purpose is just. Those demons have no right to this place of worship." My voice is steady, but a tremor of concern runs through me at the thought of facing such powerful enemies. I turn to Seraphine. "What exactly do you mean by 'shadow demons'? What kind of power are we dealing with here?"

M

Merrin · Rogue

I shift uncomfortably in my seat, my eyes darting around the room, searching for any hidden traps or weaknesses in our sanctuary. My mind races with possibilities and escape routes. "Shadow demons, huh? Sounds like a real party," I mutter sarcastically, trying to mask my growing unease with a wry smile.

S

Seraphine · Wizard

I take a slow, deliberate breath before speaking, my fingers tracing the edges of the ancient map on the table. "The shadow demons are not a trivial foe. They are creatures born of pure negative energy, summoned by the dark sorcerers who have claimed this tower as their own." My voice is steady and calm, but there's a underlying current of worry in it
"Their power is drawn directly from the darkest reaches of the multiverse itself, and they can manipulate shadow and darkness with terrifying precision. They are not just undead or mindless beasts; they possess intelligence and an insatiable hunger for souls."
I look up, meeting each person's gaze around the table one by one, my expression serious and resolute
"Our greatest challenge will be navigating both the physical dangers of the tower and the psychic assaults these demons will inflict. They can turn a man's own mind against him, fill his thoughts with despair and dread until he is utterly broken."

V

Varrika · Fighter

I shift in my seat, the weight of my armor creaking with the movement. My eyes narrow as I listen to Seraphine's grim assessment of the shadow demons. "Dark sorcerers and shadow demons," I mutter, shaking my head. "Just what we needed." I run a calloused hand through my short hair, my expression grim.
