The air around them seemed to thicken, growing heavy with an ancient, malevolent energy that made Merrin's skin crawl. She paused, her fingers still hovering over the lock mechanism, and turned to face her companions. The runes on the gate pulsed with dark energy, each star symbol seeming to draw power from some unseen source deep within the tower.

Jeane stepped forward, her crimson eyes narrowing as she examined the pulsating dark runes. The air here is thick with tension and the weight of ancient magic. I can feel it crawling across my skin like tiny insects. The runes are not mere decoration—they're a warning. They pulse with dark energy, each star symbol seeming to draw power from some unseen source deep within the tower. Elric's map may be woefully inadequate, but that matters little now. We've already committed...

Seraphine stepped back from the ancient gate, her eyes fixed on its pulsating runes. "The power emanating from these symbols is unlike anything I've encountered before. It feels... predatory." Her gaze dropped to the map clutched in her hand, its lines suddenly seeming crude and useless against the palpable malice radiating from the barrier before them.

As Merrin paused, Halie moved forward, positioning herself between the rogue and the gate. "Merrin, stop. The dark magic around these runes is too potent. We don't know what kind of traps you might have triggered by forcing that lock." She gripped her heavy mace tightly, her blue-grey eyes scanning the ancient stonework for any sign of further danger.

The air grew heavier still, charged with an almost electric tension as the tower's magic responded to their presence. The runes on the gate seemed to pulse faster, each star-like symbol glowing with an ominous inner light.
