The thunderous roar of the collapsing floor fills the air, drowning out Varrika's cry as she feels her grip slipping on the crumbling ledge. She pushes off with all her might, propelling herself toward Merrin just as the entire section gives way with a deafening crack.

Merrin, already in motion, barely registers Varrika's shout over the cacophony of falling stone. She dives forward, arms outstretched, and manages to catch her friend mid-leap just as they both tumble across the slick floor. The collapsing section behind them opens up like a gaping maw, swallowing the golem's remains and the magical pool in a shower of stone and water.

They slide to a stop mere feet from the edge of the new chamber revealed by the catastrophic collapse. Merrin rolls onto her back, panting heavily as she helps Varrika regain her footing. The dwarf warrior clutches her tightly, both women shaken but alive.

"By the Ancestors," Varrika gasps, looking down at the chasm that now separates them from their previous location. "That was too close." She turns to Merrin, her expression a mix of relief and lingering fear. "Are you alright? Any injuries?"

Merrin shakes her head, wincing slightly as she tests her limbs. "Just bruised and thoroughly terrified," she admits, looking around at their new surroundings. The chamber beyond the chasm is even more unstable than the last, with crystals of various sizes jutting from the walls and ceiling like deadly spikes. A faint blue glow emanates from deeper within, casting eerie shadows across the stone.

"We should move," Merrin says, her voice tight with tension. "Before this whole place comes down on top of us." She helps Varrika to her feet, both women eyeing the precarious path ahead warily. The air here feels charged, almost alive with magical energy that prickles against their skin.

Varrika nods grimly, drawing her heavy mace. "Stay close," she warns. "We don't know what other dangers this place might hold." Together, they step forward into the unknown depths of the collapsing crystal chamber, each footfall echoing ominously in the vast space around them.
