The tension in Collapsing Crystal Chamber with Central Pool at Bottom of Descending Stairs tightens for a beat as the interruption refuses to go away. Everyone is forced to stay quiet and choose their next move carefully.

Merrin

Merrin · Rogue

I aim carefully and fire my crossbow at the golem's head, praying to whatever gods might be listening that the bolt finds its mark. As the projectile flies true, I'm already on the move, scrambling to my feet and reaching for my mace. "Varrika, let's go!" I shout, grabbing her arm and hauling her up from the ledge. "We need to find a way out of this madness before the whole place comes down on top of us!"

Varrika

Varrika · Fighter

I heave myself up from the ledge, my muscles burning from exertion. Merrin's crossbow bolt finds its mark, striking the golem's head with a sickening crunch. The massive construct staggers, then topples forward, crashing into the churning pool with a splash that sends water flying in all directions. "Well done!" I call out to Merrin as we both scramble to our feet, "But we're not out of this mess yet!"

The chamber continues to shake and lurch around us, ancient stone groaning in protest. Shards of crystal rain down from the collapsing ceiling, forcing us to dodge and weave as we make our way towards the far side of the chamber. As we run, I can't shake the feeling that something else is wrong - the Voice's words echo in my mind, a dark promise hanging over us like a shroud. "Keep your eyes peeled," I warn Merrin, "and stay sharp. I have a feeling this nightmare is far from over."

The central pool looms before us, its waters now pulsing with an eerie, otherworldly light. Tendrils of energy dance across the surface, crackling and snapping like lightning. A shimmering figure emerges from the depths, its form shifting and twisting as it rises into the air. "By the gods," Merrin breathes, her voice filled with a mix of wonder and fear. "What is that thing?"

I grip my mace tighter, my heart pounding in my chest. Whatever this entity is, I know one thing for certain: we're going to need all our wits and strength to survive whatever comes next. "Stay close," I tell Merrin, my voice steady despite the fear coursing through my veins. "And be ready for anything. This is far from over."
