Phase: resolution · forced · organic escalating

The stone-skin creature's gaze remained fixed on Silra, its glowing green eyes burning with an inner fire as it took another step forward. The scraping sound behind them grew almost deafening, a rhythmic scratching against stone that suggested whatever was coming was almost upon them. As the creature moved closer, its body began to shift and ripple like a living thing, revealing glimpses of something dark and formless beneath its surface. A low-pitched hum emanated from it, the air vibrating with tension.
Sister Hale stepped forward sharply, her grip on Silra's arm firm but not aggressive as she spoke directly and with clear concern in her voice. "Wait—this isn't reconnaissance anymore, it's walking into danger we know nothing about!" She caught Silra's gaze, her eyes searching for a spark of reason to temper the rogue's boldness. The cleric's hand rested on the hilt of her mace, ready to defend herself and Silra if necessary.
