Phase: escalating

Silra moved further into the corridor, her short sword at the ready as the air thickened with ozone-sharp magic. The vibration underfoot pulsed rhythmically, almost like breathing, and Sister Hale's symbol responded to whatever was suppressing Jeane's magic.
Sister Hale stepped up beside Jeane, her eyes scanning the cleric's face for any signs of distress, while also assessing their surroundings. "Whatever counter-magic system is in play here is sophisticated enough to neutralize even your primary magical tool," she said, her voice low and measured. The stone breathing beneath them grew stronger, more purposeful; whoever designed this underground facility wanted them down here specifically, and had engineered an entire shaft collapse just to pull three armed adventurers into their basement.
Silra's eyes darted back to the wall, tracing the stone seams methodically as she spoke. "This isn't natural geology," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "It's deliberate construction hidden beneath later masonry work. The joints between sections show precision cutting that predates everything above ground level by centuries at least." The vibration underfoot pulsed again, stronger now, and Silra could feel the rhythm in her teeth and jaw like standing too close to massive machinery.
