Round 8

As Seraphine's quill scratched out notes in her leather-bound notebook, she studied the pattern of runes on the gate with an intensity that bordered on obsession. The air vibrated with the hum of the ward, and Jeane's demonic wings rustled softly as she stepped forward to examine the carvings. "Halie's divination gives us the silence component," Jeane said, her voice low and controlled, "but we need the final piece—light or shadow—before attempting full sequence."

The stone floor beneath them shuddered slightly as the dormant ward reacted to the new glyph, its resonant hum growing louder. Seraphine's eyes narrowed as she examined the intricate runic pattern etched into the ancient stone, her fingers tracing the lines with a delicate touch. "This point here," she murmured, pointing to a specific intersection where two runes met, creating a small spiral effect that seemed to draw the eye inward. "It seems to be the nexus for the sequence."
