Episode 1 · Episode Round 2
The Narrator restates the undertaking plainly, fixes the stakes in the room, and presses the cast to make their positions clear before the meeting can end.
Jeane's expression remains serene yet unyielding as she meets each person's eyes in turn. I have stated my conditions clearly. This tower is not some bandit den to be stormed with bravado alone—it is a fortress of dark magic, likely layered with death traps and summoned guardians that will tear us apart methodically unless we approach with surgical precision.
I am willing to participate if we adhere strictly to the preparation timeline I outlined: three days minimum for reconnaissance and spellcrafting. I cannot guarantee our survival otherwise, and my oath as a sorcerer is not to be party to a collective suicide mission dressed up as heroism.
I'm in for tomorrow if we're careful, but I won't sign up for a drawn-out recon that leaves the villagers waiting weeks for help they need now. If you can't guarantee the gods' blessing on a three-day delay, then what good is your magic? I'll pray our way through the entrance and hope your spells are as strong as your demands.
I'm willing to participate on a cautious entry tomorrow, but not on any drawn-out recon that leaves the villagers in peril. I understand the risks, but if we're going in anyway, I'd rather do it with whatever prep we can manage overnight. No promises on keeping everyone alive, but I'll do my best to pick locks and spot traps without getting us all killed.
Seraphine’s eyes flicker over the map, lingering on the crude representation of the tower's entrance. A shiver runs down her spine, a mixture of fear and an undeniable thrill at the prospect of unraveling its secrets. "I must confess, the thought of what lies within those walls terrifies me. But I am not so cowardly as to refuse entirely." She takes a deep breath, her voice gaining a steadier confidence. "One day to prepare seems the best compromise between caution and urgency. We can familiarize ourselves with the immediate area, identify any obvious wards or traps, and ensure we are armed with the most effective counter-spells available. After that... we venture inside, ready to face whatever dark magics the tower holds." Her gaze meets Jeane's, a silent acknowledgment of the sorcerer's concerns before she continues.* "I will participate on the condition that we all agree to move forward with this timeline. No delays, no further preparations unless we discover something that makes our current plans insufficient. We go in tomorrow, retrieve the sword, and return to those who await our aid."
I'm willing to go in tomorrow, but I won't make promises about keeping everyone alive. We're facing undead horrors and dark sorcerers—no amount of preparation can guarantee our survival. But those villagers need that sword now, so I'll take my chances and stand beside them.
