As the skeletal warriors stumbled back, their bony limbs splayed across the threshold, Jeane's warding sigil flared to life, a blinding green-white burst of necrotic energy that sent the undead reeling. Halie stepped forward, her holy symbol raised high, eyes closed in concentration, as she called out to Varrika, "Divine protection! Shield our souls from this unholy presence!" A soft golden glow emanated from the symbol, spreading outward to envelop the party. Merrin watched warily, her gaze darting between Halie and the skeletal horde beyond the gate. Jeane turned to Seraphine, her voice low and urgent, "Cast Detect Magic on those sigils in the gateway arch—the necromancer who controls them is hiding somewhere close, probably behind us or within the tower walls."
