The air in the ruined border chapel's war room hangs heavy with anticipation and trepidation. Candles flicker, casting eerie shadows on the cracked stone walls as the party members sit around the heavy table, their faces illuminated only by the faint light. The distant sound of thunder rumbles outside, a reminder that the storm that brought them here is far from over.

I lean forward, my voice low and steady, drawing the attention of the gathered party. "Gathered here today are five brave individuals, each with unique skills and motivations. Your contract is to retrieve the legendary Time-Splitting Sword from the accursed tower beyond the Whispering Woods. The sword is said to grant immense power to its wielder, but the tower is rumored to be trapped in a web of dark magic, guarded by undead horrors and powerful demonic entities bound to its walls."

I pause, studying each of their faces for reactions, before continuing. "The success of this mission will depend on your ability to navigate the treacherous terrain, avoid the tower's deadly traps, and overcome the forces that guard it. Failure will not only mean the loss of the sword but also the risk of being consumed by the darkness within the tower."

I lean back, my eyes scanning the room. "The party's goal is clear: retrieve the Time-Splitting Sword and bring hope back to a land in dire need of it. Success will be measured by your ability to overcome the challenges ahead, while failure will be marked by the loss of the sword or worse."

I turn to each member, my voice taking on a more specific tone for each. "Jeane, as a sorcerer, you possess the power to wield the elements, but how do you propose to handle the dark magic that permeates the tower? Halie, as a cleric, your faith is strong, but can you truly protect the party from the forces of darkness? Merrin, with your rogue skills, do you believe you can navigate the tower's deadly traps without putting the rest of us at risk? Seraphine, as a wizard, your knowledge of arcane lore may be invaluable, but how do you plan to deal with the demonic entities rumored to inhabit the tower's depths? And Varrika, as a fighter, your strength is undeniable, but can you truly overcome the undead horrors that guard the tower?"

I pause, my gaze sweeping across the room once more. "Each of you has your reasons for participating in this mission, and each of you has concerns about the risks involved. I ask you now: what will it take for you to commit to this quest? What do you need to see or experience before we proceed?"

Jeane taps her fingers on the table with a steady rhythm, her eyes narrowing as she considers the narrative. Very well then—let us be clear about our objectives and our limitations. I will participate under one condition: every decision regarding our entry into the tower must prioritize my safety above all else.

I am not here to throw away my life for a cause that offers no tangible benefit or salvation. I have my own reasons for accepting this contract, but they do not include suicide or damnation. If we are to proceed, I need assurances that my abilities and skills will be used wisely, not recklessly.
