Round 2

[Narrator | Narrator]
The Narrator restates the undertaking plainly, fixes the stakes in the room, and presses the cast to make their positions clear before the meeting can end.
[Jeane | Sorcerer]
Jeane’s eyes narrow as she considers the tower’s defenses on the map. I will lead this infiltration, assuming no one here is foolish enough to think otherwise. The sword is our prize, not some noble crusade or a chance to play hero. Her voice carries the cold precision of someone who has weighed risk against reward countless times. I accept the danger—the gold it promises outweighs the skeletons—but we operate under my command. Each spell has a cost; each move must be calculated. No half-cocked ideas, no emotional attachments to the ‘innocent.’ The villagers are collateral, not our priority.
[Halie | Cleric]
I will participate. But not as a mindless follower in some glorified heist led by an arrogant sorceress who sees people as collateral. I lean forward, silver holy symbol visible. We retrieve that sword to end the curse on this land and its people—not just for gold or power. I won’t be part of any scheme that leaves innocents suffering because we cut corners or prioritize profit over principle.
[Merrin | Rogue]
Merrin clears her throat nervously, her eyes darting between the maps and the other party members' faces. Look, I'm no hero, but I know a job when I see one. And this tower... it reeks of trouble. She sighs, running a hand through her short cropped hair. But if we're going to do this, we need to be smart about it. No rushing in half-cocked. Let me do my thing - scout ahead, pick locks, disable traps. That's what you're paying me for.
[Seraphine | Wizard]
Seraphine's eyes lock onto the map spread across the table, her fingers tracing the intricate lines that represent the tower's layout. The candlelight flickers, casting dancing shadows that seem to mimic the ancient magic she knows lurks within those stone walls. "The tower... it calls to me, a siren song of forbidden knowledge and untold power." Her voice is a low murmur, almost lost in the hiss of the candles and the distant thunder rumbling outside. She looks up, her gaze sweeping across the faces of her potential companions, each one marked by a different kind of determination. "I will participate, yes, but under specific conditions. We must approach this not as a mere raid for treasure or a quest for glory, but as a mission of scholarly discovery. The Time-Splitting Sword... it is more than a weapon. It is a key to unlocking secrets lost to time itself." She taps a finger on the map, indicating a specific point. "This chamber here, marked by these runes - that is where we should focus our efforts. If any location holds the truth behind the sword's power, it will be there. And once we have it... we will use it to end this curse, not just for the village, but for all who live in shadow of this accursed place."
[Varrika | Fighter]
Varrika's eyes narrow as she listens to the others state their intentions. I'll join this mad quest, but not blindly. That tower's got a darkness about it that puts even my battle-scarred hide on edge. We go in with care and purpose, not some sorceress' notion of glory or a rogue's game of chance. The sword's our goal, yes, but we use it to end this curse, not just line our pockets. I'll fight the horrors that guard it, but we play this smart. No rushing in half-cocked or leaving each other behind. We survive this together, or not at all.
