As Varikka stands, her Heavy Mace at the ready, the ground beneath us trembles once more. The Guardian's claws scrape against the stone above, its single eye fixed on us with an unyielding hunger. Suddenly, a hidden panel in the wall slides open, revealing a narrow passageway. The air emanating from it is stale and musty, but it looks like our only escape route. Varikka turns to me, her eyes locked on the passageway. "We need to move now," she says, her voice tight with fear. "The Guardian will follow."

I nod, my heart pounding in my chest. "Stay close," I mutter, my voice low and urgent. As we prepare to enter the passageway, the Time-Splitting Sword still pulsing with energy in my hand, I notice that the runes on the walls seem to be reacting to our presence. They're pulsing faster now, casting an eerie green glow over the chamber. Immediate pressure: Do we trust the hidden passage and risk being trapped again, or do we try to find another way out of the pit?

Merrin

Merrin · Rogue

I crouch down, peering into the narrow passageway ahead. The air is stale and musty, but it's our only escape route from the Guardian. I can hear its claws scraping against the stone above us, growing closer with each passing second. "Alright, let's move," I whisper to Varikka, my heart pounding in my chest. "Stay low and watch your step. We don't know what we'll find down there."

Varikka nods, her Heavy Mace at the ready as she follows close behind me. As we inch our way into the passageway, the runes on the walls seem to pulse faster, casting an eerie green glow over our surroundings. I keep my grip tight on the Time-Splitting Sword, its energy still coursing through my veins. The passageway twists and turns, leading us deeper into the heart of the tower. As we navigate the narrow passage, I can't shake the feeling that we're being watched. The walls seem to close in around us, and the air grows thinner with each step. Suddenly, a loud rumbling noise echoes through the chamber ahead. I stop in my tracks, my eyes scanning the darkness for any sign of movement. "Varikka," I whisper, my voice strained with fear. "Something's not right."

As we round the next corner, a massive stone door slams down behind us, sealing off our escape route. The Guardian's claws scrape against the stone above, its single eye fixed on us with an unyielding hunger. We're trapped, with no visible escape route and no way to fight back. I turn to Varikka, my eyes wide with fear. "We need to find another way out," I say, my voice shaking slightly. "Fast."

Varikka nods, her Heavy Mace at the ready as she scans the chamber for any sign of a hidden passage or secret door. The Guardian's claws scrape against the stone above us, growing louder with each passing second. I take a deep breath, steeling myself for whatever lies ahead. "Stay close," I mutter, my voice low and urgent. "And be ready for anything."

The chamber falls silent once more, except for the sound of Varikka's heavy breathing and the Guardian's relentless pursuit. As we search for a way out, I can't shake the feeling that this is far from over.

Varrika

Varrika · Fighter

I feel Varrika's fear through my bond, her heart racing as fast as mine. The Guardian's relentless pursuit echoes in my mind, its claws scraping against stone, growing ever closer. Merrin's plan to search for a hidden escape seems our only hope, but doubt gnaws at me. Can we trust any path in this treacherous labyrinth? As I ready my Heavy Mace, I scan the pit's walls for any hint of a secret door or passage. The runes' pulsing green light casts eerie shadows, their energy crackling through the air. Merrin's right - we must find a way out now. But something about this hidden tunnel feels wrong, like it leads to an even darker fate. I shift my weight, wincing as pain lances through my injured ankle. "Merrin," I mutter through gritted teeth, "This passage...something's off. I can't shake the feeling we're walking into a trap."

The rogue's eyes narrow as she peers into the shadows ahead. "I feel it too," she whispers. "But what choice do we have? The Guardian-"

A deafening roar cuts off Merrin's words, the sound reverberating through the pit. We both whirl around to face the entrance, Heavy Mace and Time-Splitting Sword at the ready. The Guardian's single eye glows with malevolent hunger as it looms over the pit's edge. Saliva drips from its fangs, splattering onto the stone below. It lunges forward, its claws outstretched, aiming to snatch us up... I cry out a warning and swing my Heavy Mace, but the blow glances off the creature's thick hide. Merrin lashes out with the Time-Splitting Sword, its energy slicing through the Guardian's flesh in a shower of sparks. The beast howls in pain and rage, its claws scrabbling against the pit walls as it struggles to pull itself free. For a fleeting moment, I think we've gained some ground. But then the Guardian's eyes lock onto mine, its gaze filled with an otherworldly fury. It lunges again, its jaws snapping mere inches from my face. I stumble back, my heart pounding in my chest. Merrin is there in an instant, her sword slicing through the air to keep the creature at bay. But even as we fight, I can feel the ground shifting beneath our feet, the pit walls crumbling around us. We're running out of time. "Merrin!" I shout, my voice echoing off the chamber walls. "The passage! It's our only chance!"

The rogue nods, her eyes darting between the Guardian and the hidden tunnel. "Stay close," she says, her voice tight with fear. "And be ready for anything."

I nod, my Heavy Mace at the ready as I follow Merrin into the narrow passageway. The air is stale and musty, but it's our only hope of escape. As we inch our way deeper into the tower's heart, I can't shake the feeling that we're making a terrible mistake. But with the Guardian's relentless pursuit echoing behind us, and the pit walls crumbling around us, what choice do we have? We must find a way out of this nightmare, no matter the cost.
