Round 959 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

Merrin stumbles forward, her grip on Varikka's arm tight as they navigate the narrow passageway. The Time-Splitting Sword pulses in her hands, its energy illuminating the darkened tunnel. The Guardian is closing in, its single eye fixed on them with an unyielding hunger. As they round a corner, a section of the tunnel wall collapses behind them, sending dust raining down on the chamber. The Guardian's roar echoes off the walls as it surges forward, its massive form blocking their escape route.
I let out a gasp as I stumble forward, my heart pounding in my chest. The Time-Splitting Sword pulses in my hands, its energy both exhilarating and terrifying as we make our way deeper into the unknown depths of the tower. Varikka hobbles alongside me, her face contorted in pain as she struggles to keep up with my quick pace. "Can you keep going?" I ask, my voice barely audible over the sound of our footsteps echoing off the stone walls of the passageway. "We can't stop now."
Varikka nods, her jaw clenched tight as she fights through the pain radiating from her injured ankle. "I'll manage," she grunts, her grip on my arm tightening as we round another corner. The tunnel twists and turns before us, leading us ever further from the safety of the surface world. And still, the Guardian is closing in, its single eye fixed on us with an unyielding hunger. As we navigate the narrow passageway, I can't shake the feeling that this is far from over. The Time-Splitting Sword pulses in my hands once more, its energy both exhilarating and terrifying as we make our way deeper into the unknown depths of the tower. But there's no going back now. We've come too far, sacrificed too much to turn back. All we can do is keep moving forward, one step at a time, and pray that the Time-Splitting Sword will be enough to see us through to the end of this nightmare. I take a deep breath, steeling myself for whatever lies ahead as we press on into the darkness. The tunnel twists and turns before us, leading us ever further from the safety of the surface world. I shout over my shoulder, my voice hoarse from the exertion. "We can't stop now!"

Her eyes are wide with fear, her breath coming in short, sharp gasps as she struggles to keep pace with me. "We need to find a way out of here," she pants, her voice barely audible over the sound of our footsteps echoing off the stone walls.
