As Merrin and Varikka venture deeper into the passageway, the air grows thick with dust and the stench of decay. The ground beneath their feet shudders, and a loud rumbling noise echoes through the ruin, making it difficult to hear each other's voices. The narrow passageway begins to slope downward, leading them toward an underground chamber. Suddenly, the ground gives way beneath Varikka's feet, sending her tumbling down the slope. Merrin rushes to catch her, but Varikka lands hard on a jagged rock, her ankle twisting at an awkward angle. "Varikka!" Merrin exclaims, helping her friend to her feet. "We need to keep moving - we can't afford to lose any more time!"

Varikka grimaces in pain, her injured ankle throbbing with each movement. "I can move," she says, wincing. "But we'll have to be careful not to trigger any more collapses. The Guardian could be waiting for us down here."

The passageway continues downward, leading them toward an unknown fate.

I let out a gasp as Varikka tumbles down the slope, my heart racing as I rush to her side. The ground beneath my feet is unstable, shifting and crumbling with each step, but I can't afford to let that slow me down.

"Varikka!" I cry out, my voice echoing off the crumbling walls of the passageway. "Are you alright? Can you move?"

I reach out a hand to help her up, my eyes scanning the shadows for any sign of danger. The air is thick with dust and the stench of decay, making it hard to breathe and even harder to see.

"I can move," Varikka grunts, wincing in pain as she tries to stand. "But we'll have to be careful not to trigger any more collapses. The Guardian could be waiting for us down here."

I nod grimly, my hand tightening on the hilt of my blade as I help Varikka to her feet. "Stay close behind me," I whisper, my voice low and urgent. "And watch your step - these ruins are unstable at best. We need to find a way out of this place before it's too late."

With that, I turn and lead the way deeper into the passageway, my senses on high alert for any sign of danger. The air grows thicker with each step, the stench of decay mingling with the musty smell of ancient stone and crumbling mortar.

As we move forward, the passageway begins to narrow, the walls closing in around us like a tomb. I can feel the weight of the ruins pressing down on me from all sides, the knowledge that at any moment the whole thing could come crashing down and bury us alive.

But I can't let fear slow me down. We have to keep moving - to find a way out of this place before it's too late. And so I press on, my heart pounding in my chest as I lead Varikka deeper into the heart of the ruins, praying that we'll find some way to survive - or at least go down fighting.

I grit my teeth against the pain as Merrin helps me to my feet, my injured ankle throbbing with each step. The passageway is narrow and dark, the air thick with the stench of decay and ancient stone. I can feel the weight of the ruins pressing down on me from all sides, the knowledge that at any moment the whole thing could come crashing down and bury us alive.

But Merrin's right - we can't afford to lose any more time. The Guardian is still out there somewhere, hunting us down like prey. And if we want to survive, we need to keep moving forward - no matter what horrors this twisted world may have in store for us next.

I tighten my grip on my mace as I follow Merrin deeper into the passageway, my senses on high alert for any sign of danger. The ground beneath our feet is unstable, shifting and crumbling with each step, but I can't let that slow me down. We need to find a way out of this place before it's too late.

As we move forward, the passageway begins to narrow even further, the walls closing in around us like a tomb. I can feel my heart pounding in my chest, my breath coming in short gasps as the darkness presses in from all sides.

But I won't let fear get the better of me. We have to keep going - to find a way out of this place before it's too late. And so I press on, my hand resting on the hilt of my blade as I follow Merrin deeper into the heart of the ruins, praying that we'll find some way to survive - or at least go down fighting.

This is our only chance.
