As I help Varikka to her feet, a chunk of rubble crashes against her injured leg, causing her to cry out in pain. The torch in my hand flickers precariously, casting eerie shadows on the walls as we stumble forward. The Guardian's laughter grows louder, more taunting, and I can feel the ground shuddering beneath our feet. Suddenly, a loud creaking sound echoes through the chamber, followed by the ominous crackle of breaking stone. The wall to our left begins to crumble, sending debris tumbling down towards us. We're forced to move quickly, as the falling rocks and dust threaten to bury us alive.

I yelp as another chunk of falling stone catches me on the shoulder, sending me staggering to the side. I shake my head, trying to clear the stars from my vision. "Varikka," I call out, my voice strained with effort as I haul myself to my feet. "We've got to keep moving!"

The dwarf warrior meets my gaze, a look of grim determination on her face. Together, we stagger forward through the collapsing passageway, our hearts pounding in our chests as we race against the clock. We may be trapped, but we're not helpless. And by the gods, I'll fight tooth and nail until my last breath if that's what it takes to survive this nightmare. But even as I say the words, a nagging doubt gnaws at the back of my mind. How much longer can we keep this up? My own strength is waning, and Varikka's injured ankle is clearly a liability. And then there's the Guardian, always one step ahead, always ready to strike when we're at our weakest. I shake my head, pushing the thoughts aside. No use dwelling on the impossible. We'll face that when we come to it. For now, all we can do is keep moving forward, one step at a time, and pray to whatever gods might be listening that we find a way out of this hell before it's too late. Suddenly, a faint glow emanates from up ahead, casting eerie shadows on the walls. We quicken our pace, our hearts pounding in our chests, as the tunnel opens into a vast chamber filled with rubble and debris. The Guardian's laughter echoes through the room, "You'll never escape!" But I don't have time to dwell on his taunts. All that matters is finding a way out of this nightmare. I scan the chamber, my eyes darting over the piles of rubble and debris. And there, in the far corner, I spot it – a narrow opening, just big enough for us to squeeze through. "Varikka!" I shout, pointing towards the escape route. "There! We can-"

But before I can finish my sentence, the ground beneath us gives way once more. This time, we're trapped in a deep pit, the walls closing in around us like a vice.

I let out a string of curses as Merrin points out our escape route, only for the ground to give way beneath us once more. We plummet into the pit, landing in a tangle of limbs and grunts of pain. I try to push myself up, but my ankle screams in protest, sending waves of agony through my body. "Damn it all to hell," I mutter through gritted teeth, hauling myself up with Merrin's help. The torchlight flickers across the pit walls, casting eerie shadows that dance and writhe like the Guardian's cruel laughter. I reach for my mace, but it's gone, lost somewhere in the rubble. My heart pounds in my chest as I survey our predicament - the walls are closing in, the air thick with dust and debris, and the Guardian's taunts echo through the chamber. But I refuse to give up. I turn to Merrin, my eyes meeting hers in the dim light. "We've got to keep moving," I growl, my voice strained but determined. "There has to be a way out of this hellhole."
