Round 538 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

As Varikka steps forward into the darkness, Merrin's torch flickers in response. The light dances across the walls, casting eerie shadows that seem to move of their own accord. Suddenly, Elric's voice echoes through the tunnel, his words laced with an otherworldly intensity. "Ah, Varikka, my dear friend," he calls out, his torch held high. "I see you've found your way. But do you have the strength to press on?"
Varikka's hand tightens on her mace as she peers into the shadows. She knows that Elric can't be trusted, but she also knows that they need his guidance if they're going to survive. The ground beneath their feet begins to shift, the sound of rushing water growing louder by the second. The party knows they must act fast to avoid being swept away by the churning flood below.
Merrin's eyes dart around the shadowy tunnel, her heart pounding in her chest as she clings to the ledge. The sound of rushing water fills her ears, and she knows they must act fast to avoid being swept away. As Elric's voice echoes through the darkness, Merrin tenses, her hand tightening on her mace. The halfling rogue's mind races as she considers their options. She knows that Elric can't be trusted, but she also knows that they need his guidance if they're going to survive this accursed place. The ground beneath their feet begins to shift, and Merrin feels a wave of fear wash over her. She glances at Varikka, seeing the dwarf's face set with determination in the flickering torchlight. Merrin knows that they must work together if they want to get out of here alive. With a deep breath, she steps forward into the darkness, her mace raised high and ready for whatever may come. "Varikka," Merrin calls out, her voice barely audible over the rush of the water. "Stay close. We need to stick together if we're going to make it out of this alive." The halfling rogue moves forward, her eyes fixed on the distant glow of Elric's torch. She knows that whatever awaits them at the end of this journey, it can't be good. But she also knows that they have no choice but to face it head-on, or risk being dragged down into the depths by the churning waters forever. As Merrin follows Elric deeper into the shadows, she can't shake the feeling that something is wrong. The air feels thick and heavy, like a weight pressing down on her chest, and the walls seem to close in around them with each passing step. But still, she presses on, driven by the distant glow of Elric's torch and the faint hope that it might lead them to safety. And as they move deeper into the darkness ahead, Merrin can't help but wonder what other horrors await them in this accursed place. Will they find a way out, or will they be trapped here forever, lost in the maze of tunnels and corridors beneath the tower?
