Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

As Merrin and Varikka continue to move along the ledge, a section of the wall behind them gives way, sending a shower of sparks flying up into the air. The Guardian takes another step closer, its massive fists swinging menacingly through the water. With a Herculean effort, Merrin grabs onto Varikka, steadying her on the ledge. "We need to find a new route, now!" Merrin yells above the din of the Guardian's approach. The Guardian's voice booms through the air once more, its words echoing off the crumbling stone walls: "You fools... it's too late!" The water level rises even higher, threatening to engulf them at any moment. Varikka's ankle throbs in agony as she struggles to put weight on it, but Merrin grabs her arm, steadying her. Varikka glances down at the swirling waters below, seeing the dark shapes of creatures moving beneath the surface. She knows that they are running out of time, and that they must act fast if they want to survive.
Merrin's heart pounds in her chest as she clings to the ledge, the water rising higher with each passing moment. She can feel the Guardian's presence looming behind them, its hot breath washing over her back as it prepares to strike. But even as fear threatens to overwhelm her, Merrin forces herself to focus. She turns to Varikka, her eyes locking with her friend's. "We need to keep moving," she says, her voice strained but determined. "I don't know where we're going yet, but I know that we can't stay here."

"I can make it," she says, her voice strained. "But we need to find a way out soon, or we'll both be pulled under."
Merrin's eyes scan the ledge desperately, searching for any sign of a handhold or foothold that might lead them to safety.
