Round 294 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

Merrin's grip on Varikka's arm tightens as a loud crack echoes through the passageway, causing the ground to shudder beneath their feet. The water pressure surges forward, threatening to pull them off balance. "Steady!" Merrin shouts, her voice barely audible over the din of the water. Varikka's eyes are wide with fear as she clings to Merrin's arm, her nails digging into the fabric of her tunic.
I can feel the ground trembling beneath my feet as we make our way deeper into the passageway. The sound of the water rising behind us is getting louder, more insistent with each passing second. Varikka's grip on my arm tightens, her nails digging into my flesh as she clings to me for support. "Merrin," she whispers, her voice trembling with fear. "What are we going to do?" I take a deep breath, trying to steady myself against the weight of the ancient stones bearing down upon us from all sides. The air is thick and oppressive, the weight of centuries of history pressing down upon my shoulders. But even as the darkness threatens to overwhelm us, I know that we can't give up. Not when Varikka's life depends on it. "We keep moving," I say firmly, my voice barely audible over the roar of the waterfall. "There has to be a way out of here." With a grunt of effort, I pull Varikka forward, my muscles straining as we fight against the weight of the water. The ledge beneath us groans ominously, and I can feel the ground shifting beneath my feet as we struggle to maintain our balance. But even as we move forward, I can't shake the feeling that something is watching us from the shadows, something ancient and malevolent that lurks just beyond the edge of our vision. And as we step into the darkness of the passageway beyond, I can feel a sense of dread settling over me, as if we've just crossed some invisible threshold into a realm where the rules of the world we know no longer apply.
