As Merrin steps into the water, she's immediately faced with a new challenge. The glowing-eyed creatures from earlier dart around her, their bioluminescent markings flashing in the darkness. She can't see them clearly, but she knows they're there, watching her. Suddenly, a tentacle lashes out from the depths, barely missing her leg. The lake's surface churns and foams, sending waves crashing against her chest. With a surge of adrenaline, Merrin knows she needs to move quickly. She looks around frantically for any sign of Varikka, but the water is too murky to see anything beyond a few feet. The creatures' hellish eyes glow brighter, their forms rippling and twisting just beneath the surface. Merrin can feel the pressure building, the water closing in around her. She needs to act fast, but she's not sure where to start.

The water is cold and unforgiving as I wade into the lake's depths, each step sending ripples across its surface. The creatures' hellish eyes glow brighter, their forms twisting and writhing just beneath the waves. I can feel them watching me, their gazes like icy daggers piercing my skin. But I don't have time to dwell on my own fear. Varikka is out there somewhere, trapped in the clutches of these monsters, and I need to find her before it's too late. I scan the water's surface, my eyes straining to pierce through the murky depths. The lake churns around me, waves crashing against my chest as I push forward into its frigid embrace. Suddenly, a tentacle lashes out from beneath the surface, barely missing my leg. I stumble back with a gasp, my heart pounding in my throat. "Varikka!" I call out, my voice echoing across the water. "Where are you?"

The creatures' hellish eyes flash in response, their forms rippling and twisting just beneath the waves. But there's no answer, no sign of my friend in the lake's dark embrace. I take a deep breath, steeling myself for what must be done. And then, with a sense of grim determination, I start to wade deeper into the water, my feet carrying me toward whatever horrors await me in the depths of this ancient, unforgiving place.
