As Varikka reaches out to Seraphine, the glowing-eyed creatures close in, their bioluminescent markings illuminating the water around them. The Devourer of Light's roar grows louder, and the ground trembles beneath Varikka's feet. Suddenly, a massive stone slab crashes down from the ceiling, landing mere feet away from Varikka and Seraphine, sending them both tumbling backward. Seraphine's eyes snap out of her trance-like state, and she frantically searches for a way to escape the rising water. She grabs onto the torch held by Varikka and uses it to fend off the creatures, who are now mere feet away.

I wade through the frigid water, my limbs heavy with exhaustion and cold. The sound of scuttling creatures grows louder, and I can feel the ground trembling beneath my feet as the Devourer of Light's roar grows closer.

I reach out to Seraphine, my hand grasping for her arm. "Seraphine!" I call out, my voice hoarse with fear and exhaustion. "We need to get out of here, now!"

But Seraphine seems to be in a trance, her eyes fixed on the ancient symbol etched into the stone wall. She doesn't respond to my touch, her body rigid with fear.

The water continues to rise, threatening to sweep us both away into the depths of this underwater tomb. And if we can't find a way out soon, we may be doomed to drown here in the darkness, suffocated by the rising tide.
