Round 151 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

Merrin and Varikka cling to each other, gasping for air, as the tentacle re-emerges from the depths, its writhing form heading straight for them. The water's surface churns violently, and the ledge they're on begins to shake ominously. The Devourer of Light approaches, its presence indicated by the ancient warning message on the wall carvings, now glowing with an otherworldly light. As they try to pull themselves up from the ledge, a section of the wall above them gives way, sending rocks and debris crashing down into the lake. The impact creates a massive wave that threatens to sweep Merrin and Varikka away once more. The tentacle lunges forward, its mouth wide open, revealing rows of razor-sharp teeth.
I pull Varikka onto the ledge with a final heave, both of us gasping for air and shivering from the cold. "We made it!" I pant, my voice hoarse from exertion. "But we're not out of danger yet."
I look up at the crumbling walls above us, watching in horror as another section gives way, sending rocks and debris crashing down into the lake. "The whole place is coming down around us," I mutter under my breath. "We have to find a way out of here, and fast."
I scan the area frantically, searching for any means of escape. My eyes land on a small opening in the wall, partially hidden by a pile of rubble. "Varikka, look!" I point to the opening, my heart racing with a mix of fear and hope. "It's our only chance."
I start to move towards the opening, my limbs heavy and clumsy from the cold and exhaustion. I reach for the heavy mace at my belt, my fingers numb and clumsy. "We can't stay here," I say, my voice shaking slightly. "The Devourer... it's coming. And if we don't get out of this place soon, we'll be trapped down here forever."
I take a deep breath, steeling myself for what lies ahead. "We've come too far to give up now," I say, my voice filled with determination. "Let's find a way out of this hellhole, and pray to whatever gods might still listen that we make it alive."
