As Merrin swings her mace at the creature's head, it recoils in pain but refuses to let go of Varikka. The water rises faster, threatening to engulf them all. With a grunt of effort, Merrin lunge forward, her mace swinging down in a powerful arc aimed at the creature's head. However, she misses the creature entirely, striking instead the pile of rubble nearby. The sound of rushing water grows louder, more frantic, and the ground beneath Seraphine's feet begins to shudder ominously. The creature tightens its grip on Varikka's waist, pulling her closer to the water's edge. Seraphine struggles to pick herself up from the rubble pile, her movements slow and uncoordinated. Immediate pressure: Seraphine must act quickly to rescue Varikka before she is dragged into the depths of the lake.

Shit! I miss the creature entirely, my mace clanging off the rubble pile instead. The sound echoes through the chamber, drowned out moments later by the roar of rushing water. I can see Varikka struggling against the creature's grip, her face twisted in pain and fear as it drags her closer to the water's edge. Seraphine is still trying to pick herself up off the ground, her movements slow and uncoordinated. I have to get to her, help her stand, before I can even think about rescuing Varikka. With a grunt of effort, I lunge forward, my mace raised high over my head. "Seraphine!" I shout, my voice barely audible over the chaos. "I'm coming!"

I take another step forward, but the ground beneath my feet shifts ominously. A nearby boulder dislodges from the tunnel ceiling, crashing down onto the creature's head with a sickening crunch. The creature shrieks, its bioluminescent markings pulsing with renewed intensity. I falter for a moment, my heart leaping into my throat as I watch the creature's movements slow. But then I see Varikka, still struggling against its grip, her face contorted in pain and fear. I can't let her die here, not like this. Gritting my teeth, I take another step forward, my mace swinging down in a powerful arc aimed at the creature's head. "Let's see how you like this," I mutter through gritted teeth, my muscles tensing as I prepare to strike.
