Merrin yanked at the rope with all her might, grunting and groaning as she tried to pull Varikka closer. The creature's tentacles lashed out once more, striking Merrin with a crushing blow that sent her tumbling to the ground. As she struggled to get back up, the platform creaked ominously beneath her feet, threatening to collapse at any moment. Water crashed over her face, filling her lungs and making it hard to breathe. Seraphine's eyes fluttered open, wide with fear and pain, as she clutched her staff tightly.

Merrin let out a shout of alarm as Seraphine was pulled under by the creature, her staff slipping from his grasp. The water churned around him, threatening to drag him down as well. He struggled against its pull, his limbs leaden and exhausted. "Seraphine!" he screamed, his voice lost in the roar of the flood. But even as he fought to reach her, he knew it was futile. The creature was too strong, the water too deep. And now, with Seraphine gone and the platform crumbling around him, he was left alone to face whatever came next.

Seraphine struggled against the pull of the water, her heart hammering in her chest as she fought to stay afloat. She could feel the creature's tentacles slashing through the murky depths, seeking out its prey. The platform groaned ominously beneath her feet, threatening to collapse at any moment. Her lungs burned for air as she tried to keep her head above water. "Varikka!" she called out, her voice lost in the roar of the flood. But there was no answer, only the deafening sound of the water and the creaking of the wood.

The current pulled Seraphine deeper into the darkness, carrying her away from Merrin and the crumbling platform. She could feel the weight of the water pressing down on her, threatening to drag her beneath its depths. Her fingers ached as she clung to her staff, the only thing keeping her afloat in this swirling abyss.
