As Varrika steps into the hidden chamber with Merrin close behind, the figure in Shimmering Light follows, its glowing eyes fixed on them with an unnerving intensity. The air grows colder and heavier, and the ground begins to shake beneath their feet. Suddenly, the chamber is bathed in a blinding flash of light, and when it fades, Varrika finds herself face to face with a mirror, its surface rippling like water. A figure stands behind her, its eyes blazing with an otherworldly energy - The Voice. "Welcome, Varrika," it says, its voice like the rustling of leaves. "I see you have passed the first test."

Merrin

Merrin · Rogue

I feel a chill run down my spine as the blinding flash of light fades, revealing the mirror before us. The figure behind me - The Voice - speaks in a voice like rustling leaves, its words sending a shiver through my body.

"First test?" I mutter under my breath, my grip tightening on my mace. "What in the seven hells is going on here?"

I glance around the chamber, my eyes searching for any signs of danger or hidden threats. The air is thick with an otherworldly energy, and I can feel a sense of unease settling over me like a shroud.

Merrin stays close by my side, her crossbow aimed at the mirror's surface. Her eyes are wide with fear, but there's a flicker of determination in them that I recognize from our many battles together.

"What do we do now?" she asks, her voice low and tense. "Do we trust this... thing?"

I take a deep breath, my mind racing as I try to make sense of the situation. The Voice speaks of tests, of proving our worthiness - but for what? And at what cost?

"I don't know," I say, my voice heavy with doubt. "But we can't turn back now. We've come too far."

I take a step closer to the mirror, my mace raised and ready to strike if necessary. "Whatever this is, whatever it wants from us - we'll face it together. Just like always."

And with that, I steel myself for whatever horrors may lie ahead - ready to fight, to bleed, and to die if need be. But not without a struggle. Never without a struggle.

I look at the mirror, my heart pounding in my chest. The surface ripples like water, distorting my reflection in a way that makes my stomach churn. I can see Merrin behind me, her crossbow aimed squarely at the glass. Her eyes are wide with fear, but there's a flicker of determination in them that I recognize from our many battles together.

I glance at The Voice, its glowing eyes fixed on me with an unnerving intensity. Its voice is like the rustling of leaves, soft and soothing, but there's something about it that sets my teeth on edge.

"Merrin," I say, my voice low and tense. "Whatever this is, whatever happens next - we face it together. You and me."

I glance at the mirror, its rippling surface casting strange shadows on the chamber walls. "We've been through too much to let some trickery or trap beat us now. So whatever happens - we don't back down."

I take a deep breath, my grip tightening on my mace. "You ready?"

Merrin nods, her crossbow aimed squarely at the mirror's surface. "As ready as I'll ever be," she says, her voice steady and determined.

And with that, we step forward - ready to face whatever horrors may lie ahead, and determined to see this quest through to its bitter end.

Varrika

Varrika · Fighter

I stare at my reflection in the mirror, the surface rippling like water.

"Whatever this is," I mutter under my breath, "it's not natural. Nothing about this place is."

I take a step closer to the mirror, my mace raised and ready to strike if necessary. "But we didn't come all this way just to turn back now. We face whatever's in store - together."

I look at Merrin, my eyes meeting hers in the mirror's rippling surface. "Stay alert," I say, my voice low and tense. "Keep your crossbow ready. And whatever happens - we don't let our guard down for a second."

With that, I steel myself for whatever horrors may lie ahead - ready to fight, to bleed, and to die if need be. But not without a struggle. Never without a struggle.

I take a deep breath, my grip tightening on my mace. "Alright then," I say, my voice steady and determined. "Let's see what this mirror has in store for us."

And with that, I step forward - ready to face whatever challenges may come, and determined to see this quest through to its bitter end. Whatever The Voice has planned, whatever tests or trials it may present - we'll face them head-on, together. Just like always.
