As we step forward onto the shifting ledge, the ground gives a violent lurch beneath us, sending us stumbling. The Figure in Shimmering Light takes another step closer, its presence seeming to fill the room. Varrika's eyes widen in fear as she realizes she may not be able to keep up with Merrin's pace. The chamber begins to shake violently once more, and the mirror shards shatter, releasing a burst of dark energy that threatens to engulf us. The waning magic from the unstable state causes Varrika's vision to blur, and she stumbles, nearly falling off the ledge. Merrin quickly grabs her arm, holding her back. "Varrika, I've got you! Stay close!" she shouts over the rumbling noise. The Figure in Shimmering Light continues to advance, its gaze fixed on Varrika with an unsettling intensity. The ground beneath us begins to open up, revealing a growing gap that seems to be pulling us in. We have to act fast - the pitfall trap is triggered, and we're running out of time.

Merrin · Rogue

I grit my teeth as I feel the ground give way beneath us, sending us stumbling. My heart races as I hear Varrika cry out in alarm, the sound of her mace clattering against the stone floor barely audible over the rumbling noise.

"Varrika!" I shout, reaching out to grab her arm just as she starts to fall. I pull her close, wrapping my arms around her waist and holding her tight against me. "I've got you! Stay with me!"

I glance up at the Figure in Shimmering Light, watching as it takes another step closer. Its gaze is fixed on Varrika, its presence seeming to fill the room. I'm not sure what it wants, but I know that we can't afford to stick around and find out.

As the chamber shakes violently once more, I feel the ground beneath us begin to open up, revealing a growing gap that seems to be pulling us in. I tighten my grip on Varrika, my heart pounding in my chest as I realize just how precarious our situation has become.

"We need to move!" I shout over the rumbling noise, trying to keep my voice steady. "This place is coming down around us!"

I take a step forward, my crossbow still trained on the Figure in Shimmering Light. But even as I move, I can feel the ledge shifting beneath my feet, the ground unstable and unsteady. I know that we're running out of time, that the pitfall trap is triggered and we need to act fast if we want to survive this collapse.

I glance over at Varrika, her face a mask of concentration as she tries to keep her footing on the shifting ledge. She's a fighter, but even the toughest of us can be pushed to our limits in a place like this. And with the ground shaking violently and the chamber collapsing around us, I'm not sure how much longer we can hold out.

But I also know that together, Varrika and I can face whatever horrors this place may hold. And so, with a deep breath and a steadying grip on my crossbow, I step forward onto the shifting ledge, ready to fight for our lives.

Varrika

Varrika · Fighter

Varrika: I feel my heart racing as I struggle to keep my footing on the shifting ledge. Merrin's grip on me is the only thing keeping me from tumbling into the growing pit below.

I take a deep breath, trying to steady myself as I feel the ground lurch beneath us once more. The Figure in Shimmering Light looms before us, its gaze fixed on me with an unsettling intensity. I'm not sure what it wants, but I know that we can't afford to stick around and find out.

As Merrin pulls me closer, I feel a surge of gratitude for her quick thinking and steady presence. Together, we've faced countless dangers in this treacherous place, but none quite like this.

I glance down at the gaping hole beneath us, my stomach churning at the thought of falling into its depths. But even as fear grips me, I feel a flicker of determination rising within me. We've come too far to let a little thing like a collapsing chamber stop us now.

I tighten my grip on my mace, my knuckles white as I feel the ground shift beneath my feet once more. "We need to keep moving," I mutter to Merrin, my voice strained but determined. "If we stay still, we'll be pulled in for sure."

I take a tentative step forward, testing the stability of the ledge beneath us. It wobbles ominously, but doesn't give way entirely. I take another step, then another, my movements slow and deliberate as I try to keep my balance.

Behind me, I can hear the sound of rubble shifting and falling, the rumbling noise growing louder with each passing moment. But I don't dare look back - if we're going to survive this, we need to focus on what's ahead.

And so, with Merrin by my side and my mace at the ready, I step forward onto the shifting ledge, ready to fight for our lives.
