[Narrator | Narrator]
The Narrator restates the undertaking plainly, fixes the stakes in the room, and presses the cast to make their positions clear before the meeting can end.
[Jeane | Sorcerer]
Jeane's eyes narrow as she considers Halie and Seraphine's concerns. Participation is contingent on two factors: first, direct intelligence from the hermit about the tower's internal defenses—not just rumors or village gossip—and second, a full disclosure of what this sword actually does beyond 'split time.' If it carries curses, binds users to dark pacts, or simply fries the mind of whoever touches it, I need to know before we step foot inside. I'm in for power, not for playing martyrs to some cursed artifact.
[Halie | Cleric]
I will participate, but with clear understanding and precautions in place. This is not a matter of greed—it's about stopping what threatens the village. We need to know exactly what we're dealing with before we enter that tower. The sword's power means nothing if it kills us or worse.
[Merrin | Rogue]
I'll participate, but I want clear answers first. We need to know what we're really walking into. If the hermit can't give us solid intel on the tower's defenses and the sword's true nature, then I vote we turn this job down flat. My skills are no good if I'm dead or worse.
[Seraphine | Wizard]
Seraphine takes a slow breath, her gaze fixed on the flickering candle flames dancing across the table. I will participate under two conditions. She raises a finger, her tone firm and precise. First, we must secure an audience with this hermit. Not just for his knowledge of the tower, but to divine what he truly knows of the sword itself. If he cannot provide detailed information on its origins, its purpose, and most importantly, its potential dangers, then I see no point in risking our lives for it. She adds a second finger. And second, we must all agree that if at any point one of us feels the magic of this artifact is too great a threat, we withdraw immediately. No argument, no discussion. We leave it where it lies. The power to split time is not to be trifled with lightly.
[Varrika | Fighter]
I'll participate under one condition. I want a full breakdown of the tower's defenses from the hermit, and I mean every detail—traps, magical wards, undead guardians, the lot. Without that, we're stumbling into a death trap. As for the sword itself, I need to know what it does beyond 'splitting time.' If it comes with curses or dark pacts, I want no part of it. My mace is for smashing, not for meddling with ancient evils.
