Round 83 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

The tension in Storage chamber at the base of a descending passage tightens for a beat as the interruption refuses to go away. Everyone is forced to stay quiet and choose their next move carefully.
Jeane's eyes narrow dangerously as she watches Seraphine step forward, her winged nature barely contained beneath her cloak. Careful now, little lightbringer. You're playing with fire—and I don't mean me. The succubus' crimson gaze flicks between the floating puzzle box and Kael's shadowed form. A test of worthiness? How quaint. Her voice drips with disdain. Fine. We'll play your little game, but know this: if that thing above decides to join us down here, all your precious 'guardian' magic won't save you from my wrath. Jeane's injured leg throbs painfully as she shifts her weight, the stone shard embedded in her thigh sending jolts of agony up her spine. She grits her teeth against it, refusing to show weakness. So what exactly does this 'test' entail? And more importantly, how long will it take? Her fingers tighten around the crossbow, the cold metal a comforting weight in her hands. Because let me be perfectly clear: our time is running out. That creature upstairs isn't going away, and my patience for cryptic bullshit has reached its limit. Jeane's wings twitch beneath her cloak, ready to unfurl at the slightest provocation. So either tell us what we need to do, or step aside so we can find our own way out of this cursed place.
I turn to face Jeane fully, my expression a mixture of concern and frustration. Her anger is understandable—we're all terrified and desperate—but lashing out at Kael won't solve anything.
"Jeane, please," I say, my voice dropping to a whisper that carries the full weight of my fear. "I know you're in pain, and I share your urgency. But this... this isn't just some random monster we can fight our way past. It's something else entirely." My gaze drifts back up to the collapsed passage above, where a faint, eerie glow seems to emanate from the darkness. "The magic I felt when it was near... it wasn't like anything I've ever encountered before. It felt like the very fabric of reality was unraveling around it."
I take a deep breath, steeling myself against the memory. My fingers tremble slightly as they trace the intricate patterns on the holy symbol at my throat. "And now this 'guardian'... he speaks of tests and worthiness. Maybe there's something more to it than just another obstacle. What if he has knowledge that could help us? Or worse, what if he's the key to whatever this place really is?"
I look down at the small, ornate box floating before Kael, its surface gleaming with an inner light that seems to beckon me closer. "The riddle... it felt like a fragment of some greater truth. 'Eros', the god of love? What could that possibly mean in a place like this?" My brow furrows as I try to make sense of it all. "We need answers, Jeane. And right now, this is our only lead." I turn back to Kael, my posture straightening as I address him directly. "Tell us what we need to do to solve your puzzle. But know this—we won't wait all night for a solution. Our lives are on the line here."
