Seraphine leans out further over the edge, searching downstream. "Still nothing!" she calls back to Jeane, her voice tight with panic. The current carried Merrin and Halie away too fast—they could be anywhere by now. This whole cavern system feels unstable enough to come down around our ears at any moment. We need to find them before we're buried alive—or worse! Seraphine turns back to the water, determined not to give up. Come on... Her breath comes in gasps as she clings to the ledge, muscles burning with exertion.
