Under the tempestuous sky, Silra's dagger sliced through the air as she advanced on Gravedigger Renn, her voice a low, menacing whisper. The gravedigger's shoulders tensed, his eyes darting between Silra and the storm-darkened church spire before locking onto hers, his fear palpable. He stammered, "I... I'm just digging. No one's—" but the tremor in his voice betrayed his true intentions.

Jeane stood tall, letting the rusty iron key dangle from her fingers as she addressed Renn directly. Her words were laced with a subtle magic, a flick of her wrist that seemed almost casual but was clearly a spell component. "This is a city of the dead, gravedigger," she said. "You're not here by accident." The gravedigger's eyes fixed on the key, and for an instant, his fear gave way to curiosity.

Silra stepped closer, her voice carrying an edge of bored menace. She wasn't here to make friends, especially not with jumpy gravediggers who were clearly digging up more than dirt. Her gaze swept over the disturbed earth, pointing out the shovel's true purpose. "You've been watching us for longer than polite etiquette allows," she said. The ash storm swirled around them like a bad omen, and Silra's eyes narrowed.

Sister Hale stepped between Silra and the gravedigger, her voice softening. She sought to reassure him, not intimidate. "Please, we're not here to cause trouble," she said. "We seek only to rebuild what was lost." Her gaze drifted toward the distant church ruins, where a faint light flickered from within. The gravedigger's fear was palpable, and Sister Hale felt a pang of sympathy for him – he clearly knew something that could aid their quest.

As the storm raged on, Silra's eyes never left the gravedigger's face, her hand resting on the hilt of her dagger. She was wary, but not hostile, and she would not be swayed from her purpose. The key lay at Jeane's feet, a symbol of their quest to rebuild the abandoned church and grow their faith. But for now, they had a gravedigger to convince – and a city guard to evade.
