Phase: escalating

As the ground shuddered violently beneath their feet, the runes on the wall pulsed with an otherworldly energy, casting eerie shadows across the room. Gravedigger Renn's terror-smell hung heavy in the air, a potent mix of fear and desperation that seemed to cling to him like a shroud. Silra leaned back from her crouched position beside Renn, her teal eyes sharp and calculating as she analyzed the situation. "Not worthy," he repeated, his voice shaking but resolute, echoing the entity's words.
Sister Hale knelt beside them, her silver holy symbol held loosely at her side, her gaze fixed on the ground as if willing it to remain still. The air in the common room grew thick with tension, and she spoke in a gentle yet firm tone, "Brother, you had courage going back down there alone—even if what you found terrified you." Her hand hovered near Renn's shoulder, hesitating before touching it, as if afraid of being drawn into the darkness that had driven him from the tunnel system.
The ground continued to rumble ominously outside, a reminder of the danger that lurked beneath Gravehill. The pulsing runes on the wall cast an eerie glow over the room, and Silra's voice cut through the tension, her words dripping with sarcasm, "Well—that clears up absolutely nothing while simultaneously making everything worse." She glanced at the runes, her mind racing with possibilities.
