Phase: resolution · forced · organic escalating

A faint whisper seemed to echo through the desolate air, a soft warning that went unheeded by the party huddled on the ash-choked road outside Gravehill's ruined city. The guard leader's voice, laced with desperation, cut through the tension like a rusty blade. "We need answers," he said, his eyes fixed on Gravedigger Renn as Sister Hale was dragged back towards him despite being pulled by an unseen force. The massive chitinous limb, mere inches from their faces, continued its relentless assault on the stone, sending ash and debris flying in rhythmic bursts. The scuttling noise grew louder, closer, and seemed to emanate from the very ground itself, as if whatever was pulling her had made its decision. Gravedigger Renn's frantic gestures were the only thing keeping them tethered to reality, his voice barely above a whisper as he asked, "What's going on?" Sister Hale seized the opportunity, her words slicing through the tension like a hot blade. The brick she had pried loose from the wall clattered to the ground, revealing a small, hidden compartment beneath it. A piece of parchment slipped out, fluttering in the wind as Sister Hale twisted her body, trying to get a good look at what was holding her back.
