Sister Hale's eyes blazed with determination as she was dragged back towards Gravedigger Renn, her hands scrabbling at the air for purchase. The massive chitinous limb, mere inches from their faces, continued its relentless assault on the stone, sending ash and debris flying in rhythmic bursts. The scuttling noise grew louder, closer, and seemed to emanate from the very ground itself, as if whatever was pulling her had made its decision. Gravedigger Renn's frantic gestures were the only thing keeping them tethered to reality, his voice barely above a whisper as he asked, "What's going on?" Sister Hale seized the opportunity, her words slicing through the tension like a hot blade. The brick she had pried loose from the wall clattered to the ground, revealing a small, hidden compartment beneath it. A piece of parchment slipped out, fluttering in the wind as Sister Hale twisted her body, trying to get a good look at what was holding her back. The guard leader's voice cut through the air, his tone firm but laced with an undercurrent of desperation. "We need answers," he said, his eyes darting between the tunnel entrance and the party.
