As the section of the wall behind them slid open, revealing a narrow passageway that led deeper into the earth, Silra and Sister Hale stepped forward, their eyes adjusting to the dim light within. The air was stale and musty, heavy with the weight of decay, and the scraping sound behind them grew louder – claws now dragged carven letters across stone floor. Whatever lurked back there wanted them, and the urgency in that sound sent a shiver down Silra's spine.

Sister Hale's gaze flicked towards Silra, her unholy symbol held out like a shield as she asked, "What do you make of these marks?" The symbols etched into the stone walls seemed to pulse with a soft blue glow that matched the rhythm of Hale's heartbeat. As they examined the markings, the mist swirled around their ankles like cold fingers, making it clear they were not alone in this forsaken place.

Silra's eyes narrowed, her hand still gripping the handle of her shard, as she analyzed the wall symbols. The passage seemed to be carved, but the walls felt wrong – too smooth, too calculated. Her gut told her that this was exactly what the owners of this place wanted them to take. Hale's presence beside her offered a sense of comfort, but also a reminder that they were being herded into a trap.

"What do you see?" Hale asked, her voice low and cautious, as she searched for any sign of danger. Silra's gaze darted back to the symbols, her mind racing with possibilities. The air seemed to vibrate with an otherworldly energy, and the scraping sound grew louder still – whatever was behind them was closing in.
