Round 36 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

As Sister Hale reaches the ground beside Silra, she notices a faint symbol etched into the wall, partially hidden by the mist. It's a crude drawing of a serpent coiled around a staff, pulsing with a soft blue glow. Consequence: The symbol seems to be reacting to their presence, and Hale can feel a gentle hum emanating from it. Silra, meanwhile, takes another step forward, her eyes fixed on the wall ahead. She notices that the mist is beginning to clear in small patches, revealing a narrow corridor stretching into darkness. New detail: The air is thick with the scent of old dust and something else - a faintly metallic tang that makes Silra's skin prickle. Immediate pressure: Hale must decide whether to follow Silra down the corridor or remain at their current vantage point to keep an eye on the entrance.
Silra: That symbol on the wall—it's glowing now. Not 'probably' glowing, it is fucking glowing and pulsing like someone's heartbeat. This isn't history moving, Hale. This is something alive down here using the city as a goddamn piñata. The mist shifts again, revealing more of the corridor ahead. Too many edges in that darknessMoving noting too many places for ambush or trapMoving calculating that narrow corridors are ideal for area effect spellsMoving respecting my own limitations—if someone casts fireball in there, we're both crispyMoving considering whether wider spaces are safer than tight corridors in mistMoving also calculating that if something's in here with us, it already knows exactly where we are. This feels like a test—or maybe dinner is being served and we're the main course.*
Drawing my shard—I keep it low but ready Moving noting I'm armed and capableMoving feeling the familiar weight of steelMoving maintaining suspicion about what's causing these eventsThe gravedigger said 'moving history,' not 'shifting architecture.' That matters. Whatever's down here, whatever made that symbol glow when we approached—it knows we're here now. Question is whether it wants us dead or just... observed. Hale's symbol pulsing tooMoving noting synchronized reactions between our symbolsMoving calculating that coordinated responses suggest shared threat or common originMoving respecting her judgment but also knowing she tends toward caution while I tend toward action. The smart move might be backing outMoving considering whether 'smart' means alive or just means we never find anything worth havingMoving deciding the only way to rebuild a church is to understand what's under itMoving feeling my shard vibrate slightly—just enough to let me know it's aware of somethingMoving maintaining vigilance—I'm not blind, I'm just missing detailsMoving speaking: \"That symbol on your left—it's active now.\" Moving watching her reactionMoving calculating whether she'll follow or stay back.
This mist is clingy as a drunk ex-lover.
My symbol pulses in slow rhythm as I lower myself across, the rope cutting into my palms. That gravedigger's words keep echoing—'moving history.' Maybe he meant we should start a historical tour group instead of nearly falling down this hole.
