[Narrator | Narrator]
The DM's gaze sweeps across the room, meeting each member's eyes before returning to the table. "I see a mix of concerns and motivations, but no clear consensus yet." The DM pauses, letting the weight of the situation settle on the group.

"I understand Jeane's eagerness for a challenge, Halie's caution about the artifact's power, Merrin's reservations about the unknown dangers, and Seraphine's fascination with the Time-Splitting Sword's potential. Varrika, your determination is evident, but what are your thoughts on this quest?" The DM asks, addressing the party's Fighter.

The DM leans forward, elbows on the table, eyes locked on each member. "Here's the deal: if we succeed in retrieving the Time-Splitting Sword, it will be yours to decide what to do with it. But if we fail... let's just say the consequences won't be pleasant for all of us."

The DM pauses, letting the gravity of the situation sink in. "Success will mean retrieving the sword and navigating the tower without succumbing to its dangers. Failure will mean facing the consequences of our failure, which could include undead guardians, dark sorcerers, or even... worse."

The DM leans back, hands clasped together behind their head. "Now, I know we've only just begun this discussion, but I want to make the goal concrete: we'll be dividing the party into two groups once inside the tower. One group will try to bypass the ancient runes and magical wards, while the other group will prepare for a more direct approach. The success of both groups will depend on each other's efforts."

The DM glances around the table, meeting each member's eyes again. "So, who is willing to commit to this quest, knowing that the fate of our party hangs in the balance?"

[Jeane | Sorcerer]
Jeane Cromwell's emerald eyes narrow as she considers the weight of her decision. Very well. I will participate.

[Halie | Cleric]
I will not participate in this reckless endeavor. The consequences are too great, the risks too unknown.

[Merrin | Rogue]
I take a deep breath, my hands balling up into tight knots. I... I'll do it. But we need to be smart about this. Careful. And if things go south, we run. No heroics, no playing with time, just get out and regroup.

[Seraphine | Wizard]
I will join the expedition, but I do so cautiously and with my eyes open to the danger.

[Varrika | Fighter]
I nod slowly as the DM outlines the risks and rewards of the quest. I understand the stakes involved here, and I'm not one to shy away from a challenge. My eyes harden with determination. The path ahead will be treacherous, but if we stay together and watch each other's backs, we can make it through.
