Round 73 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

The tension in The base of a crumbling stone tower tightens for a beat as the interruption refuses to go away. Everyone is forced to stay quiet and choose their next move carefully.
I trace the lines of the cryptic message on the parchment with a trembling finger, the air in this hidden chamber thick and cloying as if heavy with the breath of some slumbering beast. The words are written in an ancient tongue, one I recognize from my studies but have never before seen in such a context. It speaks of a great power, a thing that "splits time like a blade through water," yet also warns of "a price paid in shadows."
My heart hammers against my ribs as I look up at the crumbling stonework overhead. The tower groans again, a sound like a dying animal, and a fine dust sifts down from the ceiling. Merrin's fall echoes in my mind, a stark reminder of how precarious our position truly is.
"Varrika was right to be cautious," I murmur, my voice so low it is almost lost in the oppressive silence. "This place... it feels alive. And it doesn't want us here."
I can taste this place's wrongness on my tongue—rot and brimstone clinging to every stone. The air itself is thick with dark magic residue. We need to find another way up. That corridor is a deathtrap waiting to snap shut.
I take a few steps back from the tower, rubbing my sore knee. The air still feels thick with dark sorcery, but I've got to push past that. "Alright, everyone listen up. We need a plan." I point to a crumbling section of wall. "Halie, Varrika, see if you can spot any loose stones there. Might be a hidden passage."
Turning to Jeane and Seraphine, I lower my voice. "You two keep working on that map and message. We need to know what we're walking into." My eyes flick to the ominous stairs. "I'll take first watch at the foot of the steps. Keep an eye out for any undead friends wanting to join our party."
Glancing around, I try to sound confident, even as my guts twist with unease. "We've faced worse than a few rotten bricks and bad juju. Stick together, trust your gut, and if something feels off... scream loud enough to wake the dead. We'll handle it together."
