Round 60 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

The tension in The base of a crumbling stone tower tightens for a beat as the interruption refuses to go away. Everyone is forced to stay quiet and choose their next move carefully.
The dwarf clutches her mace tightly, eyes darting between the shadows cast by the flickering torchlight. She can feel the weight of the tower pressing down on them, as if the very stones are alive with malice. Varrika steps forward, her heavy boots echoing in the cavernous space. "Alright, listen up," she growls, her voice barely above a whisper. "We're not alone in this heap of rocks. Something's here, and it don't want us poking around."
She turns to face Jeane, the sorcerer, her expression grim. "You feel that magic, don't you? It's not natural. Whatever's powering this place, it's dark stuff. The kind that eats at your soul if you're not careful."
Varrika's eyes then shift to Halie, the cleric. "And you," she says, nodding towards the holy symbol around Halie's neck. "That light of yours might be our best defense against whatever's lurking in these halls. Keep it burning bright."
Finally, she looks to Merrin, the rogue, a hint of respect in her eyes. "You've got sharp eyes and sharper wits. We're going to need both if we want to make it out of here with the sword and our lives intact."
Varrika takes a deep breath, steeling herself for what lies ahead. "This tower is a tomb," she says, her voice heavy with certainty. "And the only way to survive is to treat every step as if it's our last. Stay alert, trust your instincts, and watch each other's backs. Because out here, we're all we've got."
With that, the dwarf warrior steps forward, her mace at the ready, leading the party deeper into the crumbling ruins of the tower, where darkness and danger wait around every corner.
The air in this tower is thick with the stench of death and old magic—something foul clinging to every stone. The sigils we saw earlier weren't just warnings; they were active seals holding back whatever's inside. We need to find another way up, and quickly. Varrika, I'm counting on you to find us a path that doesn't lead us into an obvious death trap. Merrin, stay sharp—our rogue eyes and ears. Halie, keep that holy light ready; if something comes crawling out of the dark, we'll need your protection. And for the love of all things unholy, no one touches anything without checking with me first. We're not here to play hero or test fate. We're here to retrieve the Time-Splitting Sword and get out alive. That means avoiding unnecessary risks and using our heads as well as our blades. This tower has already claimed lives; I don't intend for it to claim ours. Find that route, Varrika. And everyone else? Stay close, stay quiet, and remember—we're not alone in here.
Merrin steps forward cautiously, her eyes darting about, scanning for any hint of danger. "Alright, alright," she mutters under her breath, fidgeting with her lockpicks. "Let's see what we've got here."
The halfling rogue moves closer to the tower entrance, her keen senses on high alert. She can feel the weight of the tower pressing down upon her, the air thick with an unseen presence that makes her skin crawl. "Halie," she calls out softly, "keep that holy light of yours burning bright. We're going to need all the help we can get in here."
Merrin's mind races as she considers their options. The tower looms before them, a crumbling relic of a bygone era, its secrets buried deep within its stone walls. "Varrika," she says, turning to the warrior, "I don't suppose you've got any tricks up your sleeve for getting past whatever's guarding this place?"
The halfling's eyes narrow as she studies the entrance, her fingers twitching with anticipation. She knows that they'll need to be careful, to move with caution and precision if they hope to survive whatever lies within. But Merrin also knows that they can't afford to hesitate. The Time-Splitting Sword is their goal, and they've come too far to turn back now. "Alright," she says, taking a deep breath. "Let's see what we can find in this tower of yours, Varrika. But keep your eyes peeled and your wits about you. We've got no idea what we're walking into."
