Phase: converging

The base of the crumbling stone tower loomed before them, its ancient stones covered in a patina of moss and neglect. The air around it felt heavy, thick with an almost physical presence that made the hairs on their necks stand up. The woods surrounding the tower seemed unnaturally still, as if holding their breath.
Varrika stepped forward, her scarred hands gripping the haft of her heavy mace tightly. The dwarf woman's weathered face was set in a grim expression as she studied the newly revealed corridor. "This doesn't sit right," she grunted, her deep voice barely above a rumble. "Whatever sorcery is at work here, it's not natural. We should proceed with caution." She moved forward slowly, the rough stone floor barely visible beneath her heavy boots.
Jeane followed Varrika, her crimson eyes scanning the walls with an intensity that spoke of years spent unraveling the darkest spells. The air here tasted wrong—old decay and something else, like crushed metal. The runes on the walls weren't just decoration; they were breathing, pulsing with a malevolent energy that made her skin crawl. "I don't like this," she said, her voice barely above a whisper despite its commanding tone. "The magic here is... wrong. Twisted."
Merrin took a deep breath, trying to calm her racing heart as she peered into the darkness of the hidden corridor. The air felt thick and heavy, pressing down on her like a physical weight. She could feel the hairs on the back of her neck standing up, a primal instinct screaming at her to turn back. But they'd come too far to turn back now.
The tower stood before them, its secrets waiting to be uncovered. But first, they needed to navigate this corridor and whatever dangers lay beyond. The weight of their quest settled heavily on their shoulders as they prepared to step into the unknown.
