Round 8

As Halie's warm light washed over the rune lattice, the dormant soul-traps crackled with renewed energy, releasing their silent grip on the skeletal defenders. The undead remnants shuddered, their eyes flickering amber as they paused, awaiting Jeane's next move. Halie's silver holy symbol glowed softly against the ancient stone, its gentle light a beacon of hope in the darkness.

Jeane's dark eyes narrowed as she traced symbols with her stylus, her expression shifting from concentration to revelation. The gate itself was not the true barrier, but rather a distraction, a mere facade for the inner chambers that held the key to unlocking the tower's secrets. With a newfound sense of purpose, Jeane's leathery wings folded tight as she rose to her feet, ready to face whatever lay ahead.
