Phase: converging

The air in the secret chamber grew thick and heavy as the party descended deeper into the cursed tower. Varrika tested each stone step before committing her full weight, every dwarf instinct screaming at her to turn back. The air here felt wrong—caked with something ancient and hungry—and Merrin's condition was deteriorating faster than she could explain. Her Protection spell shimmered like heat haze, barely containing the dark energy that seemed to seep through every crack in the magic.
"Whatever waits at the bottom of those stairs means to claim us," Jeane said behind her, voice tight with barely controlled panic. The stone stairs groaned under their combined weight as the party descended deeper into the cursed tower. The air grew heavy, thick with an ancient magic that made Jeane's wings resist every beat, the oppressive energy making her skin crawl and feathers ache.
Halie spoke up, her voice measured and serious. "Listen. We cannot afford to rush into this chamber blindly." She stepped forward, silver holy symbol in hand, eyes scanning the trembling walls for signs of corruption. The air itself felt wrong—heavy with a malevolent intent that made her skin crawl. "Whatever this place is, whatever force drew us here... it wants something from us."
The central rune pulsed with sickly green light—brighter since entering this cursed chamber—and Varrika could feel it pulling at something inside her, something ancient and hungry. The air itself was thick with malevolent intent. She raised a hand for silence as they reached the bottom of the winding stairs. The chamber before them was vast, the stone walls slick with condensation.
At the center, upon an altar of blackened rock, rested the Time-Splitting Sword. It pulsed with a dark energy that seemed to feed the very magic of this place.
