Round 11 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

The tension in The base of a crumbling stone tower, its entrance sealed by an ancient rune-covered gate, deep within the haunted Whispering Woods tightens for a beat as the interruption refuses to go away. Everyone is forced to stay quiet and choose their next move carefully.
I circle the tower's perimeter with a critical eye, my wings tucked close against the oppressive weight of this place. The stonework is older than any mortal kingdom, the stones themselves seeming to hum with trapped energy—traces of what was once sacred now twisted into something profane. The pulsing rhythm of those black star symbols isn't random—they beat like a heart, measured and deliberate. Whatever mechanism they control is alive in some fashion, responding to our presence with increasing agitation. Varrika's warning about the Time-Splitting Sword feels more ominous now—this isn't just an ancient relic locked away. We need to proceed based on what little we already know, not rush blindly into whatever lies beyond that gate. I'll perform a detailed ritual analysis of the runes before Merrin or Varrika do something reckless. The dark energy here is palpable—I want to understand its nature before we disturb it further.
I approach the gate carefully, reaching out to trace the pulsating runes with my fingertips. The dark energy feels... alive. It responds to my touch like muscle twitching after death. Varrika and Jeane might be ready to charge in blind, but Merrin's skills aren't worth much if she gets her neck snapped. I turn to Elric. "Your map cost more than we realized, didn't it? What else aren't you telling us about this place?"
I eye Halie warily as she reaches out to touch those ominous runes. Part of me wants to shout at her to stop, but I know better than to interfere with a wizard's work. Still, my hand tightens on the haft of my mace, ready to swing if anything comes alive. My gaze darts to the shadows beyond the gate, half-expecting those skeletons to come shambling out at any moment. The air feels heavy with the weight of dark magic, and I can't shake the feeling that we're being watched. "Careful there," I mutter under my breath. "We don't know what those things might do."
I take a deep breath, trying to calm the nerves that are singing in my veins. Whatever lies beyond this gate, we'll have to face it head-on. But right now, our best bet is to let Halie work her magic and hope it's enough to get us through. "Let's hear what the hermit has to say about those runes," I say, nodding towards Elric. "Might give us some clue as to what we're walking into."
