Seraphine

Seraphine · Wizard

I feel the power coursing through my veins as I stand before the twisted reflection of Merrin, its decaying form a stark reminder of the darkness we all carry within us. Seraphine's question about my own awakening power echoes in my mind, and I know she's right—something ancient and strong is indeed calling to me from deep within this place.
The air crackles with energy, and the whispers grow louder, a cacophony of ancient voices urging us to embrace our true selves. I can see the fear in Jeane's eyes, the way her wings flex at her back as she tries to maintain control over the situation and the reflections that threaten to overwhelm us.
But Merrin's words cut through the chaos, a sharp and clear voice of reason amidst the madness. She’s right—we need to face this together, to understand what this place is trying to show us if we hope to survive and save our friends.
"I can feel it too," I say, my voice steady despite the turmoil within me. "This power... it's different from anything I've ever experienced before. It feels old, ancient, like it's been waiting for us all this time."
I take a step closer to Merrin's reflection, my hand instinctively moving to the heavy mace at my belt. The weapon is a comforting weight, a reminder of the strength I possess, both physical and magical.
"But you're right," I continue, turning to face Jeane. "We can't let it consume us. We have a mission, a purpose. And if we fail here, Halie and Varrika will pay the price."
My gaze sweeps over the twisted reflections in the mirrors, each one showing a different version of ourselves, each one more terrifying than the last. I see my own face there, distorted and twisted by shadow, and a chill runs down my spine.
"We need to find out what this place is really about," I say, my voice hardening with determination. "What secrets it's trying to force out of us."
I turn back to Merrin, my eyes locking onto hers. In the reflection's blackened gaze, I see a glimpse of something familiar, something that speaks to the deepest parts of her being.
"And maybe," I add, my voice dropping to a near whisper, "maybe it's not just about the curse. Maybe it's about us... about who we truly are when no one else is watching."
As I speak, I can feel the energy in the room shifting, the whispers growing quieter, more focused. The reflection of Merrin seems to be listening intently, its form becoming less decayed and more... present.
I take a deep breath, steeling myself for what is to come. Whatever this trial is, whatever dark truths it seeks to reveal, I know that we will face it together. We have no choice.
