As Merrin reaches for Varikka's mace, it slips from her grasp, swirling away in the churning waters. The Guardian closes in, its massive strides eating up the distance between them. Merrin's eyes lock onto the mace, now lost in the depths below, and she knows she must act quickly. With a surge of adrenaline, she takes another step forward, testing each plank on the rickety bridge with a tentative footfall. The wood creaks ominously beneath her weight, but she presses on, her gaze fixed on the far end of the bridge. Suddenly, a section of the bridge lurches violently, sending Merrin stumbling to the edge of the chasm. She finds herself precariously perched on the narrow ledge, the icy wind whipping at her hair and clothes.

I feel a chill run down my spine as I watch Varikka's mace swirl away in the churning waters below. I know we're both in grave danger here - Varikka out there alone, swept away by the current, and me teetering on this rickety bridge while The Guardian closes in. But I can't just stand here frozen. Varikka needs my help, and I refuse to let fear stop me from trying to save her. I take a deep breath, steeling myself as I take another tentative step forward. The bridge groans ominously beneath my feet, and for a moment I feel the planks give way, sending me stumbling towards the yawning chasm below. I flail wildly, my arms pinwheeling as I struggle to regain my balance. Heart pounding, I press myself against the railing, my fingers scrabbling for purchase on the weathered wood. Slowly, painfully, I haul myself back onto the relative safety of the bridge, my breath coming in ragged gasps. I know I'm taking a risk by venturing deeper into this unstable area, but I can't afford to hesitate. Varikka is out there somewhere, hurt and alone, and I have to find her before it's too late. The Guardian looms behind me, its presence a constant threat, but I push that fear aside. With renewed determination, I continue across the bridge, my eyes scanning the churning waters below for any sign of Varikka. I can't let anything stop me from reaching her - not even the very real danger that awaits me on this precarious path. Varikka needs my help, and by the gods, I will not let her down.
