Round 950 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

The air is thick with the scent of ozone as Varikka stumbles forward, her injured ankle aching with each step. The tunnel behind them collapses, sending debris tumbling into the narrow passageway, and the Guardian's roar grows louder, closer. Merrin catches Varikka's arm, steadying her as they both gaze at the glowing liquid shard on the bench. Its surface ripples, and a small, ethereal orb forms before them. The orb pulsates with an otherworldly energy, illuminating the tunnel entrance. Suddenly, the ground shudders violently, and a loud rumble echoes through the passage. Merrin's eyes widen as she sees the tunnel walls begin to crack, chunks of stone falling away to reveal a hidden chamber beyond. Varikka's voice is laced with urgency, "We need to move now! The Guardian is closing in, and we don't have much time left."
I steady Varikka with a firm grip on her arm, my eyes darting between the glowing shard and the crumbling tunnel entrance. The air crackles with an otherworldly energy, raising the hairs on the back of my neck. I can hear the Guardian's roar growing louder, closer, and I know we don't have much time. "Varikka, can you make it through there?" I ask, my voice strained as I point towards the hidden chamber revealed by the falling debris. "We need to find cover, fast."
I take a deep breath, trying to calm the adrenaline surging through my veins. The thought of facing whatever lies beyond the tunnel entrance terrifies me, but the alternative - facing the Guardian's wrath - is far worse. "Stay low and keep your guard up," I mutter, my hand tightening around the hilt of my dagger. "And for the love of all that's holy, don't let that thing touch you."
With a final glance at the tome on the bench, I take a deep breath and step forward, leading Varikka towards the hidden chamber. The ground shudders beneath our feet as we move, and I can feel the weight of the ancient secrets pressing down upon us. Let's hope whatever lies beyond these walls is better than what we've already faced. Because if it's not... well, I don't want to think about that right now. All I know is that we need to keep moving, keep fighting, keep surviving. One step at a time.
I grimace in pain as Merrin steadies me, my ankle throbbing with every movement. The sound of the Guardian's approach sends a chill down my spine, and I know we need to move fast if we want to survive this nightmare. "Let's go," I growl through gritted teeth, limping towards the hidden chamber as fast as my injured leg will allow. "And keep your eyes open for any traps or pitfalls. This damn tower can't be trusted."
As we move into the chamber, I keep my mace at the ready, scanning the shadows for any sign of danger. The air feels thick and oppressive, heavy with a sense of ancient malevolence that makes my skin crawl. But we have no choice. We need to keep moving, keep fighting, keep surviving. "Merrin," I mutter, my voice low and urgent. "Stay close and watch my back. If that thing catches up to us, we're dead."
And with that, I take a deep breath and step forward, my heart pounding in my chest as I prepare to face whatever dark mysteries the tower has in store for us next. Let's hope whatever lies beyond these walls is better than what we've already faced. Because if it's not... well, I don't want to think about that right now. All I know is that we need to keep moving, keep fighting, keep surviving. One step at a time.
