Varikka's injured ankle gives out beneath her, causing her to stumble and fall into Merrin's arms. The Guardian's roar grows louder, its massive form looming over them like a dark specter. As they catch their breath, they hear the sound of rocks and debris crashing down towards them from the section of the wall behind Merrin. The ground trembles beneath their feet, and the oily substance on the floor seems to be pulling everything down, like a living thing hungry for more.

"Oh gods," I breathe, my heart pounding as Varikka's weight slams against me. I wrap my arms around her waist, holding her steady even as the ground shifts beneath our feet. "You alright?" I ask, my voice tight with urgency. Varikka nods, her face pale and drawn. "I think so," she gasps, wincing as she puts weight on her injured ankle. "But we can't stay here. That thing is getting closer."

I glance over my shoulder, my stomach twisting into a knot at the sight of the Guardian bearing down on us. Its massive form looms in the shadows, its eyes glinting with malevolent intent. "You're right," I say, helping Varikka to her feet. "We need to move. Now."

Together, we take a tentative step forward, our bodies pressed close as we navigate the treacherous terrain. The oily substance on the floor clings to our boots like a dark stain, making every step a challenge. But we can't afford to slow down. Not with the Guardian closing in and the chamber crumbling around our ears. I scan the walls, my eyes searching for any sign of an exit - a crack in the stone, a loose brick, anything that might lead us to safety. But all I see are reflections - broken, distorted images that seem to mock our desperate search. The ground beneath my feet shifts, and I feel a wave of panic wash over me as I realize what's happening. The chamber is collapsing around us, and if we don't find a way out soon, we'll be buried alive - or worse, at the mercy of the Guardian. But even as the ground shifts and the walls close in around us, I know one thing for certain: we won't go down without a fight. "Varikka," I say, my voice barely audible over the Guardian's roars. "Stay close. We're getting out of here, one way or another."

She nods, her grip on the Time-Splitting Sword tightening. Together, we push deeper into the chamber, our hearts pounding in our chests as we race against the clock. The Guardian's roars fade into the distance, but the ominous rumble of collapsing stone follows us like a dark shadow. We're running out of time. And if we don't find a way to survive, this ancient chamber will be our grave. But even as the ground shifts and the walls close in around us, I know one thing for certain: we won't go down without a fight.
