Round 919 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

Varikka lunges forward, her makeshift stone chunk deflecting the Guardian's next attack. The chunk shatters under the force of the blow, sending shards of rock flying everywhere. The Guardian stumbles back, its eye still glowing with fury, but its movements slower and more labored. As the dust settles, a loud creak echoes through the chamber, followed by the sound of shifting stone. The ground beneath your feet begins to give way, and you realize that another section of the tunnel wall is collapsing, the rubble heading straight for you both.
Merrin's mind races as she feels the ground shift beneath her feet. The Guardian looms before her, its eye still glowing with malevolent intent, but its movements are slower now, more labored. She can see Varikka in the alcove, her makeshift weapon shattered and her face etched with pain and exhaustion. "Varikka, we need to move!" Merrin shouts, her voice barely audible over the sound of crumbling stone. "This whole place is coming down around us!"
She takes a step forward, the Time-Splitting Sword gripped tight in her hand. The blade hums with an otherworldly energy, pulsing in time with her racing heart. Merrin knows that they can't keep dancing like this forever, that eventually the tower will collapse on top of them. "Varikka, any ideas?" she calls out, her eyes scanning the chamber for any potential escape routes or weapons. "We need to find a way to take this thing down for good!"
But as she speaks, Merrin feels the ground shift again, and this time it's more than just a warning sign. The rubble from the collapsing tunnel wall is heading straight for them, and there's nowhere to run. "Varikka, cover your head!" Merrin shouts, diving towards her companion as the first wave of debris crashes down upon them. She feels the sting of rock and stone against her skin, but she doesn't have time to dwell on the pain. All that matters is getting Varikka to safety. As the dust settles, Merrin finds herself pinned beneath a pile of rubble, the Time-Splitting Sword still clutched tightly in her hand. She can hear Varikka's pained groans nearby, and she knows that they're both alive, but for how long? "Varikka?" Merrin calls out, her voice strained as she tries to shift the weight of the debris from her chest. "Are you alright?"
There's no response, and for a moment Merrin's heart sinks with fear. But then she hears a faint moan, and she knows that Varikka is still alive. "Hold on, Varikka!" Merrin shouts, her voice filled with determination as she begins to dig herself out from under the rubble. "We're going to get through this together!"
But even as she speaks, Merrin can feel the tower groaning around them, the walls and ceiling threatening to come crashing down at any moment. They need to move, and they need to do it fast, or they'll be buried alive. "Varikka, we need to keep moving!" Merrin shouts as she finally frees herself from the debris. "Can you stand?"
She reaches out a hand, her eyes scanning the chamber for any sign of the Guardian. The beast is nowhere to be seen, but Merrin knows that it's still out there, waiting for them. "Varikka, we need to go now!" she urges, her voice filled with urgency as she helps her companion to her feet. "The whole place is coming down around us!"
And with that, the two women stumble forward into the darkness, the sound of crumbling stone and falling rubble echoing behind them as they make their desperate escape from the collapsing tower.
