I surface with a gasp, water streaming from my face as I frantically search for Varikka. "Varikka! Where are you?" My voice echoes off the stone walls, the sound swallowed by the rushing water and the Guardian's ominous roar. I spot Elric's torch beam cutting through the darkness, and I swim towards it with desperate strokes.

As I reach the ledge, I haul myself up with trembling arms, my body shaking from the cold and exertion. "Did you see where she went?" I ask Elric, my voice tight with fear as I scan the churning water for any sign of my friend.
