As Elric joins Varikka on the ledge, the ground beneath their feet shudders violently once more. A loud crack echoes through the tunnel, sending a cloud of dust and debris swirling into the air. The party is momentarily blinded, but their eyes adjust quickly to the darkness. When the light returns, Merrin notices that the fast-moving river below has changed course, now flowing directly towards them. The water's edge is now mere feet away, and the current is stronger than before. Varikka's injured ankle throbs in agony as she tries to maintain her balance on the narrow ledge. "Elric, we need to move faster," I say, my voice tight with urgency. "The river's changing direction, and it's heading straight for us."

Merrin · Rogue

I gasp as the river surges forward, the water's edge now mere feet away from where we stand huddled on the ledge. "Elric, Varikka!" I shout over the roar of the current, my voice tight with urgency. "We need to keep moving or we'll be swept away!"

I grab Varikka's arm, steadying her as she wavers on her injured ankle. Elric moves closer, his torch casting a flickering light over the fast-moving waters below. "I see a narrow path along the wall," he calls out, pointing to a ledge just above the river's reach. "If we can just make it to that ledge, we might be able to find a way out of this tunnel."

Varikka nods, her face set with grim determination as she takes a tentative step towards the narrow path. "Alright," she grunts, wincing in pain as she shifts her weight onto her injured ankle. "Let's get out of here before that thing catches up with us."

I glance back over my shoulder, my heart pounding in my chest as I catch sight of the ominous glow emanating from behind the stone door. "We have to hurry," I say, my voice shaking slightly as I reach for my crossbow. "That Guardian... it's getting closer."

With Elric's help, I boost Varikka up onto the narrow ledge, my hands slipping on the damp stone as I struggle to maintain my own balance. The fighter grunts in pain as she hauls herself up, her face flushed with exertion as she reaches down to offer me her hand. "Come on," she pants, her voice hoarse with effort. "We need to keep moving."

I nod, my heart racing as I take Varikka's hand and let her pull me up onto the ledge beside her. Elric follows close behind, his torch casting a flickering glow over the dark stone walls as we make our way along the narrow path. "Alright," I say, my voice tight with concern as I scan the shadows beyond the edge of the light. "Let's find a way out of this nightmare."

Varrika · Fighter

I grit my teeth against the pain in my ankle as I struggle to keep my balance on the narrow ledge. The river surges below, its ominous roar filling my ears as I reach for Elric's torch. "Give me some light," I growl, my voice tight with urgency. "We need to find a way out of this cursed tunnel before it's too late."

Elric nods, handing me the torch as he moves to support Varikka's other side. The dwarf grimaces in pain as she takes another tentative step forward, her injured ankle threatening to buckle beneath her weight. "I can't..." she pants, her voice hoarse with effort. "I can't go any further like this."

I bite my lip, my mind racing as I scan the shadows beyond the edge of the light. The Guardian's ominous roar echoes through the chamber once more, its weight pressing down on the stone door behind it. "Alright," I say, my voice shaking slightly as I reach for my crossbow. "We need to find a way across this river. But we can't risk getting swept away again."

Varikka nods, her face set with grim determination as she takes another step forward, her injured ankle buckling beneath her weight. Elric catches her by the elbow, steadying her as I move closer to their left side, my eyes fixed on the fast-moving waters below. "Varrika, we need to keep moving," I say, my voice tight with urgency. "The river's changing direction, and it's heading straight for us."
